Guide: SoftLiteRegBot
Step-by-step setup and configuration guide. Program version 1.0.0.
Quick start
- Download and unzip the program into a folder of your choice.
- Run
SoftLiteRegBot.exe. - Activate the program with the License Key you got from support.
- Create a Telegram bot through
@BotFatherand get its Bot Token. - Enter the Bot Token in the program and set up Manager Chat.
- Set up a welcome message for new users.
- Test it: open your bot in Telegram and press Start.
Launching and activation
On first launch, the program shows a Hardware Code — a unique identifier for your computer. Send it to support to get your License Key.
The license is tied to that specific computer. License verification runs locally — no connection to a Soft Lite server is needed for that.
Creating and configuring your Telegram bot
The bot is created through @BotFather in Telegram — it’s your own bot, fully under your control. In the program, you set:
- Bot Token — issued by BotFather when you create the bot;
- Manager Chat — the chat or channel where notifications about new registrations arrive;
- Administrators — who on your team sees notifications and can reply to users.
Appearance and welcome message
In settings, you can set up the bot’s profile and the welcome text — what a user sees right after pressing Start. The welcome message can include an image, a description of your service, terms, a link, a call to action, or anything else you want a new contact to see first.
How registration works
The first time a user presses Start on your bot, SoftLiteRegBot records the registration and saves where the click came from. If the same user presses Start again, it doesn’t create a second record — the program recognizes them as an already-registered contact and just updates their interaction history.
Links and traffic sources
A deep link looks like t.me/YourBot?start=source. Different links with different source labels let you see exactly where each user came from — a specific channel, a post, or an ad campaign.
Talking to users
When a manager replies to a user’s message in Manager Chat, the reply is automatically forwarded back into the Telegram bot — the conversation happens in the manager’s usual chat, with no need to switch between interfaces.
Broadcasting to your list
The program can send a message to your entire registered list, or to a subset of it — for example, only users who came from a particular source.
Users, statistics, and export
The program includes a list of all registered users, statistics by period and by source, and an XLSX export for further work in Excel or another system.
Data and security
All data — registrations, message history, settings — stays local on your own computer. The program does not send your user database to Soft Lite’s servers.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | What to check |
|---|---|
| The bot doesn’t respond to Start | Bot Token is correct, the bot hasn’t been stopped in BotFather, the program is running |
| No notifications in Manager Chat | Manager Chat is set correctly, the bot has permission to post messages there |
| The program won’t activate | The Hardware Code matches the one you sent support when getting the License Key |
