How to Publish Telegram Posts with a Bot
Publishing through a Telegram bot follows one chain: create the bot, add it to the channel, grant posting permission, then send the content through the Bot API or an application connected to your token.
BotFather does not publish posts. It creates the bot account and issues the token; your code or application makes the API calls.
How bot publishing works
bot → added to channel → granted Post Messages → application calls the Bot API → post appears in the channel.
A group uses the same basic idea, although group permissions and application requirements may differ.
1. Create your bot
Register it with @BotFather and save its token. Follow How to Create a Telegram Bot for the exact steps. Never expose the token publicly.
2. Add it to the channel
Open channel management, add the bot under Administrators, and enable Post Messages. See How to Add a Bot to a Telegram Channel.
3. Identify the target
A public channel can be addressed by username. A private channel normally needs a numeric ID such as -100.... An invite link is not a Channel ID. Use the channel ID guide if needed.
4. Build the message
The Bot API provides different methods for text and media. Each format has limits for file size, captions, markup, and buttons. Start with plain text, then add photos, videos, GIFs, and inline buttons.
5. Send a test and read the error
Publish one test post first. If Telegram rejects it, check permissions, target, token, and the returned error. Do not retry indefinitely after a rate limit.
Publishing with Soft Lite POST Bot
Soft Lite POST Bot is a Windows application that publishes through the user’s own Telegram bots. You use your bot and your token; there is no shared Soft Lite publishing bot.
The current version publishes to Telegram channels and groups addressable by a public @username or a -100... Bot API supergroup ID, with:
- text;
- photos;
- videos;
- GIFs;
- link buttons;
- spintax variants from one text template;
- multiple media files loaded into one batch;
- sequential or random selection of those media files for generated posts.
Sequential and random modes apply only to media-file selection. Publishing uses the Bot API on behalf of your bot.
